Once Upon a Time

Animals abound!! There is a battle brewing. The monkey, with its sweet tooth, is both conniving and mischievous. He uses a spoon to throw poo at the badger. The nasty old badger, baring its teeth, is using the health industry to maintain its dexterity and its pearly whites. The poor, poor Llama is caught in the middle, a casualty of war. He sits on the side lines, thinking and spitting…

Apple Outlook Contacts update

I guess Apple did an iTunes firmware update. They resolved the Outlook Contacts issue for the iPod. No more resetting my device everytime I sync!! Whoo hoo!

Outlook Contacts sync issue with iPods

So, this may or may not be a well known fact. I've known about it for awhile myself, but am just now sharing this with the public at large. After experiencing this problem myself, I found the same issue described in the Apple forums. The response from Apple when you call for support is that they don't support it because it's a Microsoft product. Why then do they offer the ability to sync your Outlook contacts for your iPod then, I ask?

So, the simple fix, you ask? Reset your iPod prior to syncing with iTunes. This will ensure that your Outlook contacts are updated and available on your iPod. You have to do this every time prior to plugging in your iPod to your PC. I manually manage my music and videos in iTunes, but if you store photos and want to be able to access your Outlook contacts on your device, they will sync automatically. When you plug in your iPod after the reset, Outlook will open. Don't close the program until after you're done doing any updates and eject your iPod.

That's it. :)

Monitizing my blog

So I decided to monitize my blog, not that I have any followers, but I figured it would make my site more searchable in the websphere and attract more visitors. Perhaps I'm thinking of it incorrectly. Still, the prospect of earning money, even if a small amount, is attractive considering I'm unemployed. If anything, it means I need to make an effort of doing more updates.

I don't think the ads detract too much from the site, but that's just my opinion. I'm curious to know what other people think and their ideas on the subject of monitization of blogs. (is that even a word - monitization) lol

John F. Kennedy Jr.

So, a couple of days ago I posted on Facebook that I met John F. Kennedy Jr, replying to the 5 famous people you've met Living Social application. Someone asked me when and where I met him, knowing that he died 10 years ago.

When I worked at Microsoft as an Audio Visual technician I had the pleasure of meeting him. This was in 1998 or 1999, I can't remember exactly when. He is the co-founder of George magazine, and he was visiting Microsoft about an advertising deal. I think he wanted to have exposure on MSN in exchange for Microsoft ad-space in his magazine.

I got to shake his hand, and spoke briefly to him. He was very well dressed and formal when he spoke. It was an experience I'll never forget.
